Rachel Walshe is a director, dramaturge, and educator. Dramaturgy credits include: An Octoroon, A Lie Agreed Upon, Describe the Night (Gamm Theatre), Perfect Mendacity (Steppenwolf Theatre), Marie Antoinette, Pa’s Hat (Goodman Theatre), The Good Harvest (Chicago Dramatists). Directing credits include Ironbound, Gloria, As You Like It, The Children’s Hour, Mauritius, Circle Mirror Transformation, the U.S. premiere of Anne Boleyn, Good People, Marie Antoinette, and Grizzly Mama (Gamm Theatre), Machinal, A Picasso (Timeline Theatre), The Changeling (Caffeine Theatre). Rachel served as Visiting Artistic Director for Perishable Theatre’s 2009-2010 season, where she produced the 13th Annual Women’s Playwriting Festival. Rachel is a longtime company member of Chicago’s Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, where she directed Joseph Jefferson Award-nominated These Shining Lives, and was artistic director of Fresh Produce, a new play development program. Rachel was associate director for the Obie Award-winning Our Town which originated at Chicago’s Hypocrites theater. Rachel is an assistant professor of performance at URI Theatre and is Associate Artistic Director at the Gamm Theatre. She is thrilled to be back at Trinity Rep after serving as the Literary Intern for the 2001-2002 season.
