Marlisse Payamps is a Providence, RI-born and based portrait and event photographer.
As a first generation Dominican-American, culture and connectedness are important themes in her work, sharing images of family, community, and exploration. An active member in the city, Marlisse often attends local events and demonstrations to document what is going on at the local level in hopes to inform and inspire others to get involved.
In her portrait work, she seeks to capture subjects in the subtle in between moments, in attempts to capture them in their true essence.
As a member of The Vanta Guild, Marlisse has had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with many other talented figures in the state. She has had her work on display at The Waterfire Arts Center and The Gamm Theather.
