JB (Jenna Benzinger) is a Providence-based theater educator, director-choreographer, and intimacy coordinator. JB earned their BA in Theater and Performance Studies from Brown University in the spring of 2022. They are a passionate collaborator who seeks to create and devise fearless, funky, and thoughtful work that captures the human experience. JB has taught acting residencies across New England, including at School One and Lifespan’s Bradley Schools. A Fall 2023 National Theater Institute fellow, they are trained in clowning, devised theater, vocal performance, and musical theater. JB’s direction and choreography have been showcased in the PVD Fringe Festival.
As a leader, JB understands the importance of using their positionality to advocate for inclusive art practices. They are dedicated to making art that prioritizes inclusivity and accessibility by creating work with and for historically marginalized artists and audiences. JB is passionate about helping organizations create art that reflects the full spectrum of humanity, and they strive to create safe spaces for collaboration and open communication.
