So many of us have traditions we cherish at this time of year.

Decking the halls, shopping for a special gift, heading out to look at all the decorated homes. For many, attending Trinity Rep’s A Christmas Carol is one such beloved holiday tradition. After all, it’s an opportunity for people from all over Rhode Island – and beyond – to come together as one community and enjoy the classic show.

That’s why Amica is so happy to once again sponsor this year’s performance. Like Trinity Rep, Amica has put people at the center of all we do for over 117 years. We’re pleased that our mission – to create peace of mind and build enduring relationships – aligns so seamlessly with Trinity Rep’s mission to facilitate human connection.

Ted Shallcross, president and CEO of Amica, reflected on Amica’s commitment to supporting community initiatives that enhance the quality of life for individuals and families. “For decades, we’ve partnered with nonprofit organizations that support basic needs and community development, education, health, community, public affairs, and, in this instance, arts and culture. As a Rhode Islander, it makes me incredibly proud to have Amica so closely associated with a revered tradition like A Christmas Carol.”

Amica has some holiday traditions of its own that we use to foster connections and make the season bright – much like Trinity Rep. Each year since 1971, Amica has mailed a Thanksgiving card to its policyholders across the country to thank them for their business. Along with the printed card, we create a digital version that the public can share with friends and loved ones for free.

Amica employees are also extremely generous with their time and money throughout the year, as they support many nonprofits across the country and in our home state of Rhode Island. Their generous spirit is never more evident than during our annual Month of Giving in November, when we go all out to give back to the community. More specifically, we’ve supported nonprofits that focus on food insecurity, like national organization U.S. Hunger and local places like the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Amos House, and McAuley Ministries.

“Amica and its employees continue to show how generous they are in the places where we live and work,” Shallcross said. “Through our ongoing philanthropic efforts, we not only provide financial support, but foster partnerships that drive meaningful change. That’s never more important than during the holiday season.”

We hope you enjoy this year’s presentation of A Christmas Carol, and cherish this special Rhode Island tradition.
